  13. My three new projects Mk2:- Slave relay printed circuit board, for lighting and auxiliary equipment, to interface between car towing electrical sockets N12 and S12 and caravan/trailer My previous design only had separate boards for each socket; also I up rated the relays from 5amp to 16amp contacts. The mask was produced on transparency film via a laser printer: Had to feed thru twice to get the right density, this can be a bit tricky on alignment. Picture from start to finish. http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k74/syd-...RelayCircut.jpg http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k74/syd-...veRelayMask.jpg http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k74/syd-...creenLayout.jpg http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k74/syd-...Mask_resize.jpg http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k74/syd-...Mask_resize.jpg http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k74/syd-...0669_resize.jpg http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k74/syd-...0668_resize.jpg http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k74/syd-...0670_resize.jpg http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k74/syd-...ayInterface.jpg Fitting a camera into boot number plate lighting panel, this camera has only 90o viewing angle, may change to a 130o, it look at the bumper and towing hitch. The drawings are accurate for a 1996 MK2, should be the same for all MK2’s feel free to use. Hi Matt, Syd Hear Looks Good at the moment, see you’ve kept it well away from the woofer, still got to move mine, what’s that in the glove box, that wiring diagram, via Rob’s topic was very helpful “tanks Rob” Matt did you find the power amp, I think it might be in with the CD changer? Yes it was hot working inside the car, revamping the boot, another project will display tomorrow when I finish. Keep up the good work

  21. The reason for this topic is, before my LS400 I had a Ford Scorpio, not new but like new, one day connected my trailer and all was well until I parked the car, nose facing the kerb, got back into it, put in reverse and BANG, forgot it was connected Ha *& #$ sob sob big crease right side of wing sob sob, got over it; Three years later did the same again on the other side, only one sob now had a matching pair. Now got the LS, don’t want to repeat the same. So came up with this circuit, will incorporate it into my (Towing Interface Relay Project). http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k74/syd-...edIndicator.jpg When the car is put in reveres a positive is sent to the buzzer via a connection from the reveres lamps on the car, the negative to the buzzer is via the connection through the LAMP/LAMPS of the towed trailer or caravan. The reason for so many negative circuits is to guarantee a negative to the buzzer; it is very unlikely for all the lighting circuit to be on at the same time. This can only be achieved if some form of isolation is between the towed trailer or caravan, as in (Towing Interface Relay Project) on this forum. Regards Syd See by your comments i must have a lack of concentration.
  22. Now that i have fitted my towbar, i needed to sort out the towing electrics. Because there is a lamp failure unit on the Side and Stop Lamps i decided to interface them with relays with highish coil resistance. Decided to interface all functions to the towing Electric Socket with a separate 12v supply , and fuse each circuit independent of the car electrical circuits other than the relay coils. When i ran the wiring from my touch screen to my laptop in the boot, i also ran two 80amp supplies at the same time for any new projects, made separate blade fuses in the fuse box under the bonnet. So new project started: - Deigned PCB on my PC and printed a positive on my printer onto clear film, then made the printed circuit, the outcome can be seen, the unit has 7 core cable in an out, with a separate 12v supply to feed the towing socket interface. Will keep you informed of any further Project on my LS. http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k74/syd-...0568_resize.jpg http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k74/syd-...0564_resize.jpg http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k74/syd-...0563_resize.jpg http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k74/syd-...0559_resize.jpg http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k74/syd-...0555_resize.jpg http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k74/syd-...0550_resize.jpg http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k74/syd-...0548_resize.jpg http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k74/syd-...0543_resize.jpg Regard Syd
