Chaps,

I need your help big time :)

My GS430 sump is seeping oil and it needs to be replaced, I have been going round breaker and so far only managed to find a LS430 one, which after checking with Lexus it is a different part number.

So I am looking for a GS430 or SC430 Sump, chaps can you put a word round please, as £250 plus VAT from Lexus is just too painful.

cheers

Had the car on the ramp, the sump is rusted from the back, road salt I am told by lexus you can see the rust and the dribbles.

P's the sump does not have a gasket you use black silicone

Thanks, just asked for a quote, waiting :)

I've generally had very good service from Breakeryard affiliates in the past, but if one of the quotes is from 'Top Engine and Gearbox' in Birmingham, my advice would be to Google them and read the reviews on the RHS of the page before you send any money to them.

Update:

I have rung everyone and used the above web site, yes there are loads of sc430 and GS430 being broken, but they not remove the sump from the engine, as the engines are all good.

looks like I will be spending money at lexus :(

Ok final update :)

I went on eBay.com and found a new sump from a lexus dealer from the states.

Price from lexus UK £250 plus VAT

Price from Bell Lexus US + eBay shipping and import duty £ 105....

Guess which one I have purchased!

Update, the Sump arrived from the States Saturday morning and had it fitted Saturday afternoon, not the most straight forward install.

All the bolts where easy to get to, except the two rear ones, which where hidden by the cross member, had to unbolt the engine mounts and raise the engine 2 inches to get a modified spanner to it.

I have a friend who owns and garage, with lifts and all the toys, you would struggle with out one.

Amayama price is around £64.00 plus there would be shipping and the HMRC contribution/fees so a good all in price from the USA.

I had a similar problem when I needed a new UCA with the choice of a dubious chinese copy at around £50.00 or a genuine OEM Lexus part at £521.00! Found a genuine Lexus one on eBay at £120.00 :)

I there no under engine cover on the GS430? My sump is still like new although I always wipe the oil drips cloth all over it every oil change.

There is a under tray, but it does not really cover the sump and all the rust was the part of the sump hidden by the cross member.

I think road sh^t was trapped there and rusting away.
