Lower Front Ball Joints Replacement

Hi guys

I have to have the Lower ball joints replaced on my Mk1 GS300, lexus did some work on some suspension bars a few months ago and charged £100 to do the wheel alignment afterwards.

Is it possible to get these replaced from a non lexus dealer without having to have the full wheel alignment again, i don't fancy paying out £100 again for something that was done a little while ago.

cheers

You should get the alignment checked after any suspension work and if your ball joints are worn they could of affected the original alignment.

However if they are careful replacing the ball joints shouldn't knock anything out. I guess it's your call. See how the car handles after the work and decide.

 If it was only a short while ago that Lexus realined your suspension it makes me wonder if the lower ball joint was already worn in which case they should have told you that to get the correct setting it should be replaced first. If it was ok at the time of setting then replacing the lower arm should not affect the settings.
