Problem With Interior Light

Recommended Posts

The interior dome(?) light in my LS400 Mk4 has stopped working when unlocking with the remote

and when opening the front doors. The bulb is OK as it works when shifting the dome switch to left or right.

Any help would be gratefully received.

Hi

Do all the other lights that should work do so when opening the front doors,if they do then it is a problem isolated to the dome light .

If it is working on other settings then the power input to the dome light from the central locking circuit is suspect.

The fact that the dome light works with the switch to on confirms you have the 12 volt supply to the light from the dome fuse. The automatic operation of the "dome light" along with the ignition key lights and door puddle lights are controlled by the body ECU and if the rest of the functions controlled by this are working it may be a break in the wiring from the light to the ECU.

Check the 10A Radio No.2 fuse as this also feeds the body ECU and confirm if the ignition key surround and puddle lights illuminate which if they are narrows down the search for the problem to just one wire.
