Rear brake maintenance - follow on from 'Safety recall'

The design of the Lexus brake system is not unique to Lexus , you will find the same design on most cars of this type ie: 4 door luxury saloons, I think the problem is that there doesn't seem to be a maintenance schedule to clean then lubricate the caliper slider pins,if this is done at least every year ( depending on mileage done ) the problem would not re-occur .

Hi All,

Spoken to Lexus regarding the rear caliper pin and rubber boots. The gentlemen from Lexus said they don't usually sell caliper parts separately, only a caliper as a whole so he wasn't to sure what would I need, therefore I've ordered  two sliding pins and two rubber boots at a price of £36 incl VAT.
