I noticed it was only happening while it was parked at work. After reading on forums it appears that any other frequency can interfere with the smart key. They recently changed the frequency on the magnet for the crane at work and when this is running it affects entry to my car. I now park as far away from the warehouse as possible and seems to do the trick. Thanks for your reply

Yep it can happen

My fob played up due to a malfunctioning wireless doorbell at a customers house. It was a right pain as it had just started raining heavily...ended up getting drenched.

Someone else had an issue with a wireless router doing the same at a boatyard.
