Hello. I would like to introduce myself to the forum. I became the owner of a Lexus IS F last Saturday. The car belonged to a member of this forum i believe. I am very happy with it so far and enjoying the experience. This is my new pride and joy!

Thank you for your welcoming. Actually coming from a BMW M3 E46 as well the car is lovely. It is better for every day use and you can definetly have some fun when you want to!

Engine sound is brilliant and I am quite happy with the private reg as well.

Ahh, ok, the previous owner said you part ex'd a 535d.  My mistake.

Interesting to hear a comparison between the ISF and the M3.  If you don't mind me asking, how was your M3 during your ownership and what made you decide to change?

Yes I had the m3 and the 5 series. I part ex'd the 5 series and will sell the m3 privately. M3 is a very good car and I loved it. Fortunately no magor problems during my ownership.

Strong engine and very well balanced chassis but I was looking for something more practical (4 doors) but stil quick enough and reliable. Considered an m3 v8 or an m5 v10 but

the various reliability issues put me off!

Yep, from what I have heard, the M5 especially requires very deep pockets to run.  Pistonheads did a used car guide recently, and some of the costs were scary.

Yes. I have been around BMWs all my life and they can get very expensive if something goes wrong. Plus in real world and not on a track the ISF should not be far of from the v8 or the v10!

Hello and Welcome to the forum!

If you have any intentions of completing any maintenance, modification or just general enthusiast type jobs on the Lexus now seems like the ideal time to start a thread on the Brand New build thread section to share you ideals and photos and hopefully get a few ideas and tips along the way.
