Lexus connect Portal

As anyone tried to connect to the portal on the mk4 GS450 i have tried but to no avail but i am not sure if it is worthwhile but i did try being as it said it had the feature.

I did register with the portal and can get all the history of the car etc and other bits of info but cant register it with the car i am useing Iphone 7

Can log in using a phone, iPad or PC and see all the cars details, but getting the car to connect is impossible. Tried deleting the car and refreshing all my details including my hat size, but still no go. Just given up now.

Have connected my 2016 GS300h without any problems just after purchase. To be honest there is not much there except planning the route beforehand on your phone and sending to the car. Not sure if traffic, weather forecast, fuel prices etc. require login as well or just internet connection over BT, but it all works as well.

About a week ago had a popup on the screen saying something about software update required together with some webpage. As I was focused on the traffic did not quite get it, only split second before it disappeared form the screen. Asked local Lexus Stockport but they know nothing about it. Have not seen it afterwards.

Think it depends on the age of the car, i.e. a newer one has a higher chance of working due to more up to date wifi drivers.  Tried with mine on my previous OnePlus 3 phone, no go.  I ought to retry now with my OnePlus 7 pro, but see no reason to as it gives me little extra.
