Cruise control

Recommended Posts

Morning folks im hoping you can help , ive a 2004 rx300 and the cruise control hasnt worked for some time so ive tried fuse number 52 and that seems ok,  are there any other fuses linked to the cruise control ? should the cruise light come on with the ignition to test the bulb, mine doesnt

Any one got any ideas what else it could be or what i can test

Doesn't look like there's much in the way of parts for the cruise control, which would make sense on a drive-by-wire system.

If you want to have a go yourself this is what I'd do:

1) Remove the stalk and check the connections for burned pins, make sure it's plugged in correctly. Clean contacts with isopropyl alcohol maybe. Do the same for the interlink cable.

2) If the above doesn't work, replace the stalk and/or cable

If neither of those yields success it could be either a wiring problem somewhere between the cable and the ECU or a problem with the ECU itself.

Checking for codes like PCM said is also a good idea though.
