IS250 Navigation unit creaks

Recommended Posts

Hi I am having a weird issue with the front panel of my is 250. There is a small bezel around and near the screen itself made from a thin black plastic which seems to be affected by temperature way too often. The plastic expands and shrinks and makes annoying creaking sounds. I have attached an image below of the problem area and have circled around the bezel, it is black piece of plastic on the inner side of the display cavity. I was wondering if i can probably pry out this bezel without having to remove the entire nav unit itself. I did attempt to pry it out very gently but was afraid of breaking it.s_l1600_e1738c0b83c7240876c6d0815156d28c36d1a11f.jpg

I think the safest way would be to remove the complete unit and then gain access to the bezel from behind. They are normally held in by plastic clips, you could end up damaging the buttons if you try prising out from the front and at €6500.00 for a replacement unit that’s something to avoid.
