NX 450h towbar

My dealer is reluctant to fit a towbar even though I only tow a small dinghy 300 kg.

Anyone had a towbar fitted to this vehicle?

If ordered with the car (before the option was removed from the options list), your new car would have gone through Derby (I think) where such extras were fitted. Looking at the fitting instructions, it looks complicated but not impossible. My guess is that either the dealer doesn't feel confident in fitting it or he can't actually get hold of one to fit for you.

My reading is that Ukraine produced a lot of electrical cables used in vehicles and this is now in short supply. What stock there is out there, is being prioritised for the main vehicle. Hence the decision by Lexus to temporarily suspend the tow bar option.

Had one fitted from new and tried it today towing a 600kg.  Ivor Williams trailer with a couple of motorcycles . Towed well and fuel not really affected still showing nearly 47 mph average.

When in reverse you get the camera and a constant bleep, but other than that all well.

Perhaps also your Dealer is not so pressed to complete the deal. My Dealer was informed I would be towing a Caravan with my NX300H and stated no problem did not bother to mention Ball maximum weight is around 65KG which restricts what I now can carry in front of Van and rear of car.
