Infotainment upgrade NX2020

Recommended Posts

Quick question.

Can you add rear speakers to the 10" premium infotainment system?
I know the Pioneer system comes with 10 speakers, dashboard, front and dear doors, and the sub in the boot lid.

But, is there any way of adding some rear speakers?
I don't particularly want to do a parcel shelf job, after all it's a Lexus, not a 15 year old Corsa!

See what the ML option adds, maybe follow their example?

Thanks,

Not really the answer I was looking for as ML is OEM depending on spec.
So doesn’t shed any light on the subject unfortunately.

17 speaker system and still no rear speakers!
besides which that’s for the new 2022 NX and not my series 1

It just illustrates how Lexus (and ML) spec the system and provide a full sound. Besides there is nowhere the place speakers in the rear, unless you go for the sides of the load area?

Perhaps a visit to an auto electrician might shed some light on your options?

Except the speaker forward layout doesn’t fill the cabin with full sound.

sit in the back and it’s very noticeable that the surround sound is for the front seats only.

the older 14 speaker ML layout was better for a full cabin of sound imo

Have you checked the fader settings?

Nothing to do with the fader settings.
there’s a lack of rear sound, due to the lack of speakers. Therefore asking the question, can they be added?

unfortunately I think the answer is no.

I've found setting the fader to favour the rear does make a difference to the 'fullness' of the sound stage, even though I never sit in the back!
