12V battery, which on?

Recommended Posts

Hi, sorry if I keep this forum busy!

Possibly I need a new 12V Battery to my car, I have original Panasonic now but Toyota dealer want to sell me Toyota Battery which slightly different in the specs.

I see Panasonic for sale brand new on eBay for 220 quid and genuine Toyota one for only 139 pounds or 179 on dealer.

Both sellers insist that those two batteries are identical , the difference is  Toyota made in Europe for Toyota, Panasonic made in Japan for Toyota .

What best way? Just trying to go best way not to overpaid cos my repair project still long to finish

Thanks

Andrey,

I do not own an RC300, so my comments are general rather than model specific.

I've not looked to see if those two batteries are identical, but I suggest that you look up the specifications of both of them to check, and it's not just the capacity of them, but also the exact dimensions, the size and position of the terminals and then make your decision.

Neither Lexus nor Toyota make their own batteries, they just buy in and slap their name on them so there's no actual thing as a "genuine" Toy/Lex Battery.

As long as it physically and securely fits where it's meant to and the terminals have the correct orientation, any Battery will do the job because 12VDC is 12VDC no matter what. Yuasa are a well-respected brand but I've not taken much notice of the market for years so I'm not sure about others these days.

No,  spec of the Battery near the same but I read some posts online that Lexus RC  Hybrid can drop many different culprits if its see the Battery is not that factory put in.   The position of terminals, dimension etc are 100% identical.
