NX450h charging time

Recommended Posts

The manual says 7.5 hours in UK (other countries vary). My experience is 6-7 hours depending on the starting charge level.

7kW charge time is around 2 hours 30 mins to 2 hours 40 mins for a full charge.

As long as it allow you to charge the NX in less than a night sleep, that's good for me, plus it is way cheaper than any wallbox (and does not need to upgrade your electrical installation)
Bonus : It ads a nice and reliable high power output for workshop duty if needed

I will consider a wallbox when (and if) I switch to BEV and then will probably see for an 11kw one

My thoughts exactly. The Battery capacity is much less than a full EV so the 3pin 13A charge provides a full overnight charge. A wall charger is overkill imho unless you want frequent speed charges? I do not, but what I do want is full charge for frequent relatively short trips.

It's horses for courses and thank goodness that we are all different. My choice of model was the best for my circumstances but that doesn't make it the best choice for everyone. Likewise for the charger; most of the time, I charge from the domestic wall socket and it suits me fine but every now and then I really appreciate my wall box and being able to turn my car around in a couple of hours before going out for the evening. Certainly not an essential bit of kit in my case but in different circumstances or with a different vehicle, it could be.

Yes, if we were planning to change our second car in Normandy for a small EV one (99% local trips), we would consider a wallbox. but as we plan to keep our faithful Panda 4x4 diesel car (which is perfect for our muddy B roads) as long as possible, reinforced plug was the choice of reason 🙂
