Please insert the correct MAP DVD

Recommended Posts

Groan. Doesn't rain, it pours.

Suspect the DVD drive is on the way out. After reconnecting the aux Battery there was a lot of whirring from the trunk where the disc drive is.

Now no menu. And the Info button only has 2 options. Disc is absolutely clean and unscratched.

Might try to take drive out and clean or do some sort of a Battery drain in the drive (Clublexus person).

Anyone had this problem with a fix?

Just ignore it and use something that enables you to use Google Map or Waze.

Even if you have a map DVD that was just released yesterday, you're still using it with an operating system that is about 18 years old, clunky, counter-intuitive and well beyond it's use by date.

You really cannot polish a turd beyond a certain point.

😆 Yes, the number of times I found myself driving through a field that had since been developed.

Anyone know of one of those fancy consoles (seem so many from China) that actually includes the rear camera facility. Most seem to lose that feature.

I've got a Grom Vline2 in my RX and it's quite good. However, it's also expensive and I'm not sure if it's suitable for the RX400h, so this topic may be of use to you:

Indeed, I can't tell you how many times I was passing across a field that had already been developed. Has anyone come across a high-end console that has a back camera? It seems like a lot of these are made in China. Looks like that feature is lost on most.
