Lc 500 problems,

Good evening all

My '24 LC500 just experienced its first failure. Nothing life-threatening, just the failure of the latch of the center console storage compartment. Only about 2,000 miles on the ticker and the latch is terminally broken. Not something I expected out of an otherwise superb auto.

Has anyone had other issues?

Hello Paul

Yes, this problem has been reported on this site. Apparently the cost to repair/replace is somewhat excessive but a much simpler workaround has been published within these pages. Nonetheless, yours is under warranty and should therefore be replaced/rectified at no cost to you.

Got to admit mine too suffered this reluctance to latch, but in the event it all but fixed itself when I prodded the mechanism, which seems to "stick" or at least catch. I'd also add the whole arrangement is a bit feeble, so going forward a delicate touch is highly recommended.

Hi Paul, I had this problem 2 years ago & it was replaced by the dealer, free of charge-

Not had a recurrence, but it does seem, to agree with Brian, a  bit of a 'feeble' mechanism.

American Model Years tend to start well before the beginning of the calendar year. Toyota/Lexus tend to start producing yearly updates in Aug/Sept/Oct - in the UK we have to wait a month or two afterwards because of the time it takes for the cars to be shipped around the world.

An update...

Took my LC to the dealer and they fiddled with the wayward latch and they now claim it's fixed. Maybe, and I'll be gentle in the future, but we'll see if their fix fixed it.
