Trunk noise when closing / opening

Recommended Posts

Hello guys,

“I noticed” this loud noise from the trunk arms when closing / opening it, do you have any suggestions to solve it?

I heard Lexus changed 3 times the supplier of the arms for some recalls until the v3 seems to work.

Anyone that has passed from this experience or recall?

Let me know thanks!

I  would certainly give it a try.

Once a year, when I wipe over all the rubber trim with Gummi Pfledge, I also lubricate all the hinges and boot struts. If I recall, I use either Fluid Film or SuperLube, and either spray a little into the crevices, or wipe it on with a cloth.

For the record, I also give the underside an annual spray of ACF-50, which not protects against corrosion, but also helps to keep things lubricated. As a result I have no creaks or squeaks.

Do you think some silicon grease or silicon oil will make the job for these trunk arms?

Let me know your opinion, thanks! 🙏

Yes Silicone spray, works every time.

I solved the issue with some simple WD-40!

To maintain the effectiveness of lubrication over the long term, I purchased this SIlicone Lube, perfectly compatible with the trunk lift struts materials 🙂

2'500 EUR avoided from dealership!
