Thunk sound in trunk when turning

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

I'm really new to this and bought my IS about a year ago and I am really loving it so far. I hope I'm doing everything right with how I am posting this question.

So since I have bought my car I've always heard this thunk in the back of my car which I believe comes from the trunk.

It happens when I take a sharp turn or go over a pothole. I've already looked around but I cant find anything. I think it might orignate from the interior lining being a bit loose but I am not sure.

I have already brought it to the local Dealership when I had to have my rear fog lights fixed and asked them to look into it aswell.

The sound has been gone for a while but suddenly it returned after not driving it for weeks.

Has anyone experienced this aswell. And if you did what was the solution to this problem.

Thanks a lot :)

I had an occasional clunk noise from the rear end when going over a ridge. It took me 2 yrs to find out that it was the boot lid not sitting firmly down and clunking up and down sometimes. I am using some draught excluder to temporarily stop it until I find some bigger bump stops or adjust the closing mechanism

Wink wink, nudge nudge, we won't tell where your wife rides ! It's the boot lid (cough).
