Leaking Windscreen

 Share

Recommended Posts

heavy down pour in leicester today. As i started driving off, a whole load of water came through near the rear view mirror! Ive checked the seals around the window and they seem ok. Anybody had a similar problem? any suggestions? Ive only bought the car privately ( full RAC check and all) and its off warranty.

I had a similar problem (not in the IS) which allowed the roof lining to fill up with water and it was the sunroof. There may be a drain which is blocked (I don't know this, I'm guessing).

I had a similar problem after having a windscreen replaced. Took it back to Autoglass who rebonded the screen (free of charge) - apparently when it was originally replaced there wasn't enough bonding glue used, hence a litlle leak.

If you can't sort it yourself it may be worth getting the screen replaced under your insurance? Most policies would cover it with only a small excess.

Good luck!
