New Boy Needs Twin Turbo Buying Advice!

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Just joined as I am in the market for a GS300. I'm quite keen on the Twin Turbo 300 and I wonder if anyone out ther has one and could give me the benfeit of their experience?

Presumably it's a de-tuned Supra engine, so the parts can't be too difficult to get hold of? are they stiffened to handele all that extra power? and in general what should I look out for when buying one?

I've read a lot of reviews on the non-turbo 300's and they are very well rated.

JD Power likes them so I think it's a good buy. I'm having to sell my RX7 , (growing familty and all that) but It'd be nice to find something big that goes, so I really fancy the idea of a twin turbo. Do they go like poo off a stick??!!

cheers,

Rotary Boy

Hi try checking out.....

http://www.mkiv.com/main/index.html

Theres loads of info on what to look for when buying, yea its for the supra but as to the running gear the Aristo is as far as i know the same ;)

I dont think the Aristo is detuned....around 280bhp on the imports Aristo/Supra.

My mk1 car has a strut which i believe is standard on the Turbo cars,i dont think the uk version have them.

I think the Aristos have a autobox as standard, for a auto they are quick.

Think ive read on this site the 0 to 60 is 5.7 standard.

Theres loads of mods for them engine/bodykits etc etc.

What model are you after a mk1 or mk2?

hope thats been of some help bud.

Cheers chips.
