Add-on Parking Sensors

recently bought a 2002 SC430 which has an add-on reverse parking sensor system installed - does this interface with the Nav system? I believe this is the same add-on for the GS and LS models. It was working fine when I first acquired the car, but since resetting the Nav system home settings, etc., it no longer seems to work. Is there a setting in the Nav that turns this function on/off? Thanks

Mines an aftermarket system with front and rear sensors seperate from the sat nav and also talks to me.

On the ones I fitted this week (LPA400) there's an optional switch that can be fitted in the boot to disable the sensors (if towing, for example). Look in the boot for a round switch about 2cm in diameter. Failing that check the wiring (and your reverse lights for that matter), they'll take a feed from the red wire with black stripe.

I ended up getting a system from www.reversebackingsystems.com that goes around your license plate. I just left the broken ones installed.
