Suspension Hight Problem

I have a 1991 LS 400 which is a great car and has only done 70k miles. I am experiencing ride hight problems, the hight seems to change itself whenever it feels like, and if the car has rear passengers or a weeks shopping in the boot, the car becomes very bouncy and keeps hitting the speed bumps with a rather loud clang. I have approached a couple of garages but get the impression that they will take the car to pieces and still not find the problem, anyone got any advice?

Sometimes when the ride hight has suddenly jumped to its highest point the whole suspension seems to lock solid and the car feels like it has got the old solid tyres on with every small bump passing through the whole car. I dont mind paying for repairs, just dont want to pay for something that is not the problem. Thanks

If you have the air suspension, it has its' own diagnostic system.

Think best to have this diagnosis......there are about 70 pages in the manual

for the air supension checks! :duh:
