Dodgy Batter In My Key?

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys just a quick question here, just of late the remote locking buttons on my key fob seem to be dying in power. I used to only have to press it once and the car would lock and unlock. Now i have to stab it a few times to get some action. I think it is a Battery problem but does anyone know how to change the Battery in the key fobs and where i can get a Battery from.

My mum also uses the car and she is useless with the key fob keeps on in my ear that it doesnt work and ends up setting off the alarm. The other day she acidently pressed the door lock button when she was inside the car and locked herself in not knowing how to get out!! someone help me please!!!!!!!

Thanks in advance.

Batteries are easily replaced, they are CR1616 and are available from www.7dayshop.com for a pack of 2 for only £1.45. Postage is a whopping £3.95 but that is per order (cheap place for batteries, photo accessories, memory cards etc.)

I changed my Battery yesterday for £2.50 from a jewellers. It's dead easy to replace, just pop the key off your keyfop unscrew the small phillips screw with an electricians screwdriver and then open the cover, inside you will see a smaller casing this pops out by pushing the buttons upwards. then unscrew the 2 tiny screws with an electricians screwdriver again and open the cover. You will then see the Battery which is like a round watch Battery and it just pops out! Replace and follow the reverse of the above to refit. Just remember that the positive on the Battery goes face up.

Don't let the dealer do it they charge about £10 !!
