Solution For Adding Amps To The Oem Stereo

Recommended Posts

I was talking to an ICE shop owner friend today and he introduced me to this piece of kit:

http://www.jlaudio.com/press/CleanSweep05.html

It is a high end solution for adding amplifiers to an OEM headunit.

OEM car stereos often have volume dependant frequency responce, and this unit bypasses that with it's own volume control - the OEM stereo is set at fixed volume and is equalised to give a perfectly flat response.

It also allows an auxilliary source to be selected at the push of a button.

If I remember correctly, the cost is about £350.

Not a problem..

Getting bass into the Lexus isn't easy. Because the boot is pretty much isolated from the rest of the car you really need to push all the energy from a sub into the cabin..

Depends how much you want to spend, and how far you want to go!

Alot of variables :)

When you have the armrest down doesn't that help funnel some through to the cabin?

I'm not after sharing my music with the outside world, but want a bit of a rumble on the inside. How much are we looking at for an entry level setup?

Thanks,

Ash

Yes it does mate, but the real low notes won't be very audiable.

Basic sub and amp, say a 12" and a single amp somewhere from £450-£700

But it ain't no hellferds rubbish! lol
