Satnav: Driving Between Cds

Recommended Posts

I've just received the satnav CDs from the ever-helpful Lexus for my upcoming trip to Belgium. As I'm going via the channel tunnel and therefore France, I was just wondering how you put the (Belgian) destination in. Do I just put the French CD in and set the destination to be the end of the motorway (whicherver one it is between France and belgium) at the edge of the France map, and then pull over at the first stop to swap CDs to the Benelux CD and enter the final destination? Or do the CD's provide some overlap between countries?

TIA,

Div.

So it's best to put the Belgian CD and set the destination as a marked point pre-trip, then:

1. If guidance/map is required across France then put the France CD in and set a destination somewhere on a motorway just before Belgium, then swap CDs and set the destination to the previously marked position.

or

2. Guess your way through France, leaving the Belgium CD in, with the route set, then presumably when I hit Belgium the map automatically displays and the rout kicks in.

Sounds good. I'm likely to be stopping for fuel around the border so option 1 sounds good, even though the route through France isn't tricky.

Cheers Rodders,

Just remember when you leave the Channel Tunnel follow sign post E40, this road takes you striaght into Belgium and beyond, remember speed limit is 130 kph not mph.

Your route to Belguim is

M25

M20

E40,

it only take 30 mins from the tunnell to the Belgium border.
