Weird Click Noise From The Engine

hi all,

i noticed some weird clicking engine noise from the is200 manual. do u guys have the same engine noise? is this normal?

i took the soundclip 4 inch from the engine.

Hi,

The sound clip doesnt really go on long enough,the sound stops after 27secs with a minute left to run on the clip of silence.

Just sounds like the tappets from the clip nothing to really worry about.

Did you have your aircon on, this sometimes makes the engine sound different i have notice an intermitent clicking when engine is running with aircon on, also power steering pump can change engine noise if you turn wheels when idleing engine. may not be either but worth a thought?

The sound clip just isn't long enough to hear anything strange

I think I know the noise you are referring to, unless you actually know what to listen for its quite hard to hear it from that clip. Mine sounds the same, and so did all the rest of the cars I test drove before I bought my current one. I don't think its anything to worry about.

My car has the same noise.

When you stop the engine and you can notice some click sound coming out from the engine compartment.

it's normal. Japanese car has this kind of noise.

If your engine makes a noise which you think comes from incorrect valve clearances then that is something to be worried about because you will damage the cam or valve.

However the noise is probably from the fuel injectors.
