Brake Pad Replacements

Hi guys. You've probably been asked this b4 (sorry) hehehe, but I'm close to needing new pads. I have the standard discs fitted. Should I just stick with regular OEM's or are there anyones that offer better performance without and niggles and costing a gold plated bomb ? Thanks for any advice :)

Unless you're planning on a lot of trackdays, the OEM pads are perfectly acceptable. Other aftermarket pads such as Mintex and EBC Greenstuff are also good but tend to be pricier.

Im using Mintex all round at the moment seem ok so far, but then i havent covered that many miles since they have been fitted....ebay has them cheap

Have EBC greenstuff all round on my car. Had no problems with them and think they're pretty good. Using standard discs still at the moment although i'll be upgrading these also.

Should be going on tomorrow along with the Mintex Disc.

I have greenstuff all round too. Probably upgrade to redstuff soon as i find the greenstuff a bit soft.

Greenstuff and Redstuff are Crapstuff. Totally useless. Well, not totally. OK if you want to potter on down to the shop to get the paper or a pint of milk. Slowly.

OK, so they might impress the local Corsa "pimp my ride" Chav or Chavette. If you want to do that then get some paint and paint the edges of the proper pads green or red.

But drive the Grerenstuff of Redstuff hard and the brake fade is frightening. I'll never use their products again.

Just become a member of this site. Just swapped my Scooby WRX STi import with 300+ bhp, for an IS200. I reckoned it would be easier to sell the Lexus. Anyway, point is, I have used all sorts of brake pads but the Ferodo DS2500 is phenomenal. Brake fade? Brake...what? No such thing. And they work equally as well when cold. And last for ages.

I have RedStuff pads on the Tubby and like many other MR2 drivers don't have an issue with brake fade. Ever.

I'm using standard brakes with mintex discs and haven't experienced any brake fade even after pushing it round the ring. Smelly brakes yes but no fading. For normal road use I can't see as there is any point upgrading.
