hiya all,

i'm after a full LED upgrade on most of my bulbs in the car. i'm aware that the following are correct:

Front Indicators: 7440 wedge (load resistors required)

Side lights: 501 wedge

Side repeaters: 501 wedge

Dome & map lights: 239 barrel

Number plate lights: 501 wedge

Tail/Stop Lights: 7443 ???wedge???

however, over in the US, they don't have these bulbs types (well, not all of them) :duh: :crybaby:

does anybody know of the US equivalents by any chance??

 also, if i want to get the tail/stop light as an LED, i presume white would be fine....as there is a red filter in place (same goes for the fogs)???

cheers in advance

rob

anyone??? :D :D :D

You need to contact Mike Morse a.k.a 'Jap Devil' on the WIM forum. :tomato:

yeah, dropped him a pm on here but havn't heard from him yet....might try the WIM forum.

my problem is that i know there are, for example, loads of 501 bulbs located on the IS. however, over here in the states, they've never heard of 501 (so i've been informed)

i presume that the IS300 has exactly the same bulb types and locations??

one last question.....when fitting the orange side repeater bulbs to clear housings, are load resistors required?? or is this just for the front and rear indicators??

Don't need load resistors for side indicators... sorry I can't help much with the bulb types. 501s are also called W5W, but not sure if that is the US name. I think I've seen them as T10 bulbs on some US site but not 100% sure about that.

As you know, Mike's your man... try him on the WIM forum (Jap Devil) because he doesn't come on here any more.
