Glass In My Rear Speakers !

i asked you lot about my buzzy rear speakers a couple of days ago . well i have found out why . the back window has been smashed at some time and there are tiny bits of glass around the speakers (the lip between the mesh top and the surrond that says "lexus" at the back) and some tiny pieces must have fallen in to the cones (hence the buzzy sound , dead annoying ). what i need to know off you clever people :P is how an earth do you get the mesh off so i can clean the cones . i have tryed to hoover them but the angle of the glass means i can`t get the nozzle in . cheers............................jon .

You cant get the mesh off, it is attached to the rear shelf. Taking the rear shelf out is dead easy though.

1.) remove back seats (bottom part just pulls off, back part is held in with 4 bolts and clips in at the top. push upwards to disconnect clips)

2.) remove c-pillar covers (these just pull off)

3.) gently pull shelf upwards (there is one push in clip in the centre)

You should now be able to slide the shelf out of the way to hoover your cones.

all done , sounds top draw :P . there were loads of tiny glass bits all around the rear cones which were "dancing" to the music . made up . cheers andy i owe you one ............................jon :D
