Hi BL,

Just for info mine seems accurate.......up to or over 30mpg on a long gentle run,but usually around 22mpg.

Maybe yours is due to very short journeys or low tyre pressures?

Hope you find out why soon,

rgds,

Buzz.

On my Altezza, it has a far more useful Oil Pressure guage instead of the MPG meter, but when I used to travel about 25 miles to work mainly along the A3, I'd easily get 30mpg.

I've just switched jobs, meaning I'll be doing a lot more London driving, and I expect it to drop quite considerable due to traffic.

  • 4 weeks later...

I have about 10,000 KM on my SC430 and average 22 MPG in city driving and 24.7 MPG on long trips (with 25.2 MPG a long trip high). Have checked the Average MPG digital readings against actual mles and fuel consumption and it was accurate to the decimal. I did notice a small improvement when I upped the tire pressure to 34 PSI (as some sites have recomended) and switched to Mobile 1 Synthetic 5w-30 oil.

Just a thought here......since your locations are not mentioned,I assume we are all in England and refering to UK gallons as opposed to US gallons.

Since there's about 1.2 US gallons to 1UK gallon there would be a big difference in the mpg, with the guys over the pond getting less to the gallon.

:D Hi Guy's

I picked up my new SC on Saturday and drove 350 miles back to Devon on M1 / M42 / M5 and country roads at various speeds upto 80 mph my MPG was reading 27 when I arrived home thought that was pretty good, I guess when my right foot gets heavier the mpg may drop, great car though!
