The Bull is off to Las Vegas in January to watch my mate Ricky Hatton fight Jaun Urango for the IBF & IBO Light Welterweight titles.

Has anyone been before and if they have can you recommend any interesting things to do.

(please feel free to include Lap Dancing venues Burlesques etc :winky:  )

Cheers for any help

I went their last year *Fantastic* i stayed in the Luxor Hotel which was very nice TBH we just spent most of our time on the strip visiting all the hotels as most have their own fetures/shows that happen diffrent times during the day if you have some spare cash a helicopter trip to grand canyon is a must, I would suggest pre booking this though you will get a better deal..... there is also a great rollercoaster ride that goes round some of the hotels and even through part of one them..... we were warned to stay away from downtown vegas its a bit rough their but sounds like you mate can look after himself :D

You will love it

Blimey where to start!

How long are you out there for?

You really need to visit the Grand Canyon while you're out there, it's something that you have to see in your lifetime to appreciate!

Other stuff to do includes watching the Bellagio fountains, the TI pirate ship duel and the volcano at the Mirage, there was also a show at the Wynn which was pretty cool, can't remember the name, but it looked good! All the shows are on from something like 7pm until 10pm, not sure of the exact timings but they're usually every 30 mins or so.

You'll probably spend a lot of your time just walking around the casinos and the shopping malls in each one, Caesar's Palace has a good selection of shops and there's a Planet Hollywood in there with a great happy hour!

As for nightlife Vegas is one of the best places in the world for that!

Check out the Pussy Cat Dolls at Pure in Caesars, try out Lure & Tryst @ The Wynn, Rain is supposed to be good at Bellagio, never tried that one though, also Drai's at Barbary Coast is very highly rated! Also I really enjoyed RumJungle in Mandalay! Studio 54 at MGM is cool as were all the lounge bars in there. Not sure what it will be like but we did Ra at Luxor one night and it was fantastic for an hour then it went crap!

For fun check out the Piano Bar with the duelling piano's in NYNY, really good atmosphere there if it's busy, and the Nine Fine Irishmen in NYNY does a great sausage and mash for breakfast! Oh yeah I forgot Coyote Ugly bar in NYNY, that's fantastic when busy or crap when quiet!!

If you like visiting an English pub on holiday then check out the Crown and Anchor on Tropicana, they even have an imported black cab which they'll use to come and get you from your hotel!

In terms of the view you'll be laughing if you try Ghost Bar at the Palms, Voodoo Lounge at the Rio (make sure you try a Witch Doctor cocktail), and best of all is the HOB Foundation Room located on the top floor of Mandalay Bay, that's the best view of the strip bar none, well until Steve Wynn has something similar at his hotel!

You can only get into the Foundation Room on a Monday night when they host Godspeed so if you're there on a Monday make sure you check it out!

If you're a Star Trek fan then check out the museum down at the Hilton, they've got some good interactive rides as well as Quark's bar which has some interestingly coloured beers - like green Newcastle Ale!

As for titty bars, if you want to check them out then some of the fittest women are at Crazy Horse Too, although they are a bit dirtier at Olympic Gardens!

They're all pretty much the same, if you just want a good laugh get yourself down to Gutter Gulch I think it was called which is down on the old strip, in fact you need to get yourself down there to see the lightshow as that's really good - it's called the Fremont St Experience! We went in Gulch on a stag do after watching the show and I couldn't be arsed with having a lapdance so got into a drinking competition with two of the girls there, they couldn't keep up with me, that was well funny!

In fact it snowed when we were there for New Years a couple of years back, that was amazing as they'd not had snow for 15 years!!!

I'll update this thread as I think of anything else, if you're going to be going to more than one or two nightclubs it's really worht investing in a Vegas Passport - http://www.thevegashustler.com/vegaspassport.html - we had these last time and they are really worth the money, free entry and queue jump at most places on certain nights!

Have a good time mate!

Oh just thought as well, be polite at all times to everyone and tip well, you'll get better and faster service at bars if you tip them - if you're only there for one round it's not so important but when it's busy you'll get noticed quicker if you know what I mean - but saying that the bar staff over there are unlike anything you've ever seen here - these folks can have a bar with 50 people waiting and they'll know exactly who's next so don't try and barge in!

As for downtown just don't venture too far away from the main drags and you'll be fine, it's only like walking around Soho then disappearing down some dodgy looking side streets!

Winner, shame you're missing Foundation Room as that's one of the best kept secrets over there!

Forgot about Tangerine over at TI, that's a really cool lounge bar and you can watch the pirate ship fight at Treasure Island from in the bar!

Forgot to mention food, to be honest I just tend to stick to the basic buffets and Subways over there but they're supposed to do good steaks at Barbary Coast and in the Stardust at Tony Romeos but I've got a feeling that place is maybe shut now?

Also forgot to mention that when in the back of cabs the drivers will usually have little magazines full of coupons and adverts for a guide of what's current in Vegas that month, it's worth grabbing one of those, but don't buy the nightclub tickets off taxi drivers as a lot will either rip you off, sell you out of date cards or sell you cards that aren't valid for the night you get there!
