hi, i have a 1994 ls400 and my key is a one button fob.the problem is it doent work.i hav changed the batter for the key 3 times all brand new batteries.i have even checked to see if the ROM chip has come out but it hasnt.i have put in a new car Battery.i have inserted the key into the unit which is located in the boot and uplugged the aerial and inserted the key and pressed the button but nothing again.i even tried the programming of the key and again nothing but there was someting that worked it was a series of locking the door and unlocking the door ten times then press the one button key and the locks cycled and beeped i think 6 times.so i dont know what that means.i locked my car with the window down by the key in door and i opened it from the inside of the door and the alarm went off,so i know the alarm works.i have checked the button for the remote is switched on.

please can someone please help me how i can get it to work again.i know the key fob Battery is working ok as it worked when i pressed it during the diagnostic.but cant look at the climate control display as it doesnt work due to it being black.please please can someone help

Hi,

I had the same problem when i owned my LS.

Lexus wanted around £230 for a new replacement boot part that talks with the key remote.

From what ive read the range is not that good with the key remote anyway.

You would be better off having a aftermarket alarm fitted,that should be able to lock/unlock the doors and maybe even the boot.You might also get a discount on your car insurance.

The price of a alarm fitted should be around £300 all in fitted.The car would also be more secure than the factory alarm.
