Stage 1 Boost Options For Is200 S/c

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

I know this has been spoken about previously but I couldn't find any real definitive answer. In regards to fueling what is required and what is just recommended?

Ideally your looking at bigger injectors, possibly fuel pump and some better form of engine management emanage/unichip etc.

Would increasing fuel pressure with a reg be a cheaper alternative to bigger injectors as your only upping boost by .1 bar?

If the basic opinion is that its not the prefered method and there is a chance you'll run lean then so be it I'm just trying to look at all options.

Oh and I'm still looking for a second hand charger if anyone wants to part with it =)

Cheers,

Josh

Hi Josh,

The prefered method is to use larger injectors and an ECU with a high resolution calibration capability.

We used to use the method of higher pressure with a return line etc but there are compromises on issues such as fuel injector performance and life (caused by being maxed out), fuel pump life (caused by being maxed out), and drivability (which can be difficult to get right because of the high fuel pressure overloading the closed loop correct function of the standard ecu).

There isn't a huge difference in cost between the two methods (if you are paying a professional entity to undertake the installation), so on balance it would be worth considering the injectors and ecu.

We don't have any s/h supercharger systems but we have a brand new system for £1700 (no vat for export).

Hope this helps

Mark :)

Hi sorry to barge in, but need to check something.... this "no vat for export", I suppose it only applies to outside-EU countries, right?

Not a chance to get the same discount if buing from Italy, right? :whistling:

Hi lexusIT

Unfortunately we have to charge vat at 17.5% when sold within the EC.

We can sell them to a company that has it's own vat number, in which case you do not pay vat in the UK.

Please let me know if I can be of any more help.

Thanks

Mark :)

Hi Mark, thank you for the quick reply.

I will get back to you in private when I make up my mind.
