What Price Would A New Water Pump Cost Me?

It is a K reg (mark 1), I will be posting pics up soon of it. It is very fast!

The reason I ask the price of the water pump, is as my garage told me it was leaking a little onto the alternator which cause the alternator to blow the other day. All the lights came on the dash board and a little smoke came out the engine.

I have had the alternator since repaired and is now running fine, would it be the water pump that is leaking onto the alternator?

I have checked, and there is no water coming from it. Is the garage having me on, or would it only leak when the car is running and moving forwards.

Thanks for your help guys. :)

MK1 Aristo water pump is unique, Toyota only, probably cheaper to go to electric fans

MK2 Aristo water pump is same as the supra, believe they are available as a patent part these days, so not Toyota only.

how would going to electric fans solve the water pump issue

regards the leak, check the thermostat housing, there known to weep and eventually leak ...DSCF0025-1.jpg

this is where they leak on the mk 4 supra

Your right it wouldn't I was having several conversations at once, one about a radiator, one about th hydrualic fan the Aristo uses and this water pump issue.

That picture shows the na mk supra pump which is different to the TT

i tried phoning toyota today, but they said to speak to lexus as its an import. they did not really want to do anything with it and were asking for a chasis number and everything

should i go to toyota? or should i go to a specialist import garage?

i live in Bournemouth, do you know any good garages I can take my Aristo TT to? thanks

You have a Toyota, it was built by Toyota, and was on the roads before the release of the GS300. You also have a Toyota engine that wasn't fitted into any Lexus.

I can give you the part number if you like so you can buy the part from Toyota (Lexus won't sell it) and get it fitted at any garage.
