Finalising Nokia Car Kit Install...

Recommended Posts

Just finalising what I need to install a Nokia Handsfree Cark 91 handsfree kit into my 99' IS200 sport. Its for a Nokia 6310i (not the newest of phones, but a good one for lots of calls that I make)

I have searched the forums and have most of the info I need...

Just a couple of questions

I have found a kit on eBay...

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...A:IT&ih=003

Im guessing this is complete... Can I get a loom or similar to play the speaker output through the car speakers as my friend has an IS (with the top loading CD) and his handsfree plays through the car speakers, this kit was fitted when he got the car. Would this involve using the inputs into the amp? or similar...

How hard is it to get the interior A pillar interior off to fit the mic just above my head?

I have the dashmount and mute wires figured on the stero, its just these last two bits! many thanks.

A pillar cover just pops off, you may be able to just push the mic lead behind it from the window side without removing it.

you can just wire direct to the speakers from the nokia unit..

Thanks for the reply, do you know where I have to wire to? into the amp etc... would be a great help.

The mute is clearly marked. If I just wire the nokia car kit speak out to the L-, L+ etc will it play through the speakers fine? Or when the mute kicks in will it stop all the speakers, including stopping the output from the car kit being produced.

you will need to tap into the speaker line after the amp.. will only come thru one speaker just like the oem sat nav does..

cant remember which colour wires are on the door cpnnector block but can find out i you need this?

I guess this is what you mean as diagram shows how sat nav is wired to driver speaker set.

Also Im guessing these are the pins where the phone kit speaker out needs to be wired in?

One last question, where is the best place to take the power from:

"The red wire must be connected to the + voltage on

the vehicle’s power supply via the supplied fused connector. The black

wire must be attached to a good negative GND connection.

The blue ignition sense (IGNS) wire is connected to +12 V voltage controlled

by the vehicle’s ignition key via the supplied fused connector.

See section ”Ignition Sense”."

Is the cigarette lighter a good place for the black and red, what about the blue as quoted above?

Thanks again

blue can go to any live that works only when the ignition is on.. ie cig lighter or the acc on the diagram ( ithink thats ignition live or it will be Bu +b you will know if its right as it will only work when iggnition is on!)

black to any ground and red to perm live such as car Battery or the Bu +b (or as above acc)

any probs then PM me..

hi

just got your pm not been on here for a while

i had a parrot kit installed

to get the sound coming through your speakers you do have to tap into the speaker wiring in the kick panes in the footwell the i am not 100% which wire goes where but the diagrams on here should show you

the mute will work for the rear shelf speakers etc

as for the mic you can just pull the roof pannel down a tad and place your mic above you rear view mirror

it looked quite simple to do just a bit daughnting for a first timer
