I saw a post on the Lexus US forums giving details of a way to allow the entry of address information into a 2006 GS430 whilst on the move. :)

It involved the key sequence 'menu' 'volume' 'top left' 'bottom left' 'top left' 'bottom left' which then gave access to a hidden screen with a range of setup options.

I have tried this on my UK GS430 but it didn't work.

I suspect that this is because the early UK models don't have DVD playing capability.

Does anyone have an alternative fix to allow destination entry or phone dialing whist on the move?

only way you can do it is by removing the whole unit and removing 2 of the wires. Seems common in other countries, USA in particular, but not seen anyone in UK offering the service and i for one don't want to start taking everything out. There is some very detailed posts on how to do it on the forum and USA forum including pictures etc.

I have seen the wired modifications you mention on the USA forums and that is where I found the 'secret screen' access method.

Does your 2006 GS have DVD playing capability?

If so, then maybe the 'secret screen' will work on your unit. I suspect that it doesn't work on mine as it is an older, none DVD movie capable head unit.

When you say "top left" I presume you mean top left of the touch screen
