just installed vista..and triying to get the aero interface up n running with flip3d etc..cant seem to get it working tho. have looked under control panel-windows color and appereance and under color scheme. i'm guessing thats the right place? according to a few websites the min. graphics requirements for aero is 128mb graphics card. which i do have with directx10. card is a geforce4 ti 4800se..

man, that is one ooooooold graphics card. I'm fairly sure it only supports DirectX8 (Vista is DX10).

That's bound to be the problem - Aero is quite a system hog for what it does.

You also need at least 1Gb of system ram to run Aero successfully.

found out what the prob was..the card doesnt support pixel shader 2.0.. :) so will get a new one. got 2gb ram so plenty there.

Definitely - as a minimum and even then it wouldn't run wonderfully...

Windows Vista, is just windows XP with a more Disney colour scheme...

Vista is a whole new way of working - never has there been such a change for a good while.

Hate the continual security intervention it performs, much better when turned off too :)
