The only reason the warning light comes on is if there is contact of metal on the warning light contact within the pad , maybe the peplacement pads never had warning light wires with them and the fitter has not fitted them and the old wires are in contact with metal . See a lot of garages use patent parts , they are cheaper and allow them to make more profit , i.e I could replace the pads with non genuine parts for about £30.00 as opposed to Lexus ??pounds (hate to think) . My advice would be to take the car back to the place and ask them to investigate the fault , whatever it is it should not affect the braking performance . If you want to check it yourself , the wiring should run down the strut and then go to the brake caliper , put it on full lock and have a look .

Regards

Many thanks. I am pretty sure that the pads are not lexus so it all makes sense. Best wishes

i "think" i read a post on here a while ago on the same topic and the poster stated that Lexus system is a bit different. For the light to be OFF, the wire must be connected and when the pad gets low, the connection is worn away and the light comes ON. Your light being ON, "could" be caused by having non lexus parts and not having the wire connected.

it will be worth searching the site for more info.

good luck and please post your solution, as i'm sure you will find one.
