Dodgy Start This Morning

Hi Guys,

My IS200 normally starts first time every time except this morning... The engine turns over and the car starts then it dies straight away

I try 2 more times with the same result, at the 3rd time i revved the engine a lot and it was fine from then on... Is it the cold weather or should i be slightly worried? The Battery seems fine and i recently changed the oil and oil filter.

Spark plugs perhaps?

This might not be the problem you have but anyway - I get something similar to what your describing every so often, for no reason at all it seems! its a known problem amongst LOC members, some members put the accelerator down fully then back up before starting which has cured the problem.

I think i read something along those lines when i first joined the LOC... The car was fine once i got it going. I'll have to wait and see how it behaves when i start it tomorrow.

my primera had this problem when it rained very hard (only happend once though). it would turn/start then die. my girlfriends almera did the same. she couldnt get it going, i told her to floor it and start. sorted it out!

im guessing the exhaust filled with water and needed it kicking out.
