Mm System Traffic Master (advance Traffic Alerts)

I've only used it the once at the weekend coming from Cambridge to High Wycombe,

I was just wondering how accurate you have found it and how quickly it's updated fair enough it re routed me around the M11 because it had been shut following an accident,

But the whole journey home it kept flagging up (no less than 15 times) the yes/no screen to re route because of congestion ahead apart from the initial problem on the M11 I ignored it and stuck to the usual route back with no further problems or delays?

I'm just wondering if I should really trust the sytem or just use the old fashion method of radio news.

I like the traffic data but I wouldn't bet my life on it. It is usually accurate but is dependent on problems being reported and transmitted over TMC and this appears to be still a bit hit and miss in the UK.

Aso, and I may be wrong but I think you get a more regular update with radio on than off - I think TMC is updated with radio off but less frequently??

We've got the same system in our Prius, and so far it's worked really well, on some occasions it's actually cancelled the reroute too if the traffic had cleared before we got there :)

Yesterday went for a drink after work, jumped in the car and hit queues within 5 miniues. Turned on SatNav and within 10 seconds it warned me the road was closed 300 meteres ahead ( dual carriageway ). It was spot on, Did a detour down some very narrow lanes which satnav eventaully recognised and all went well. The normal diversion would have been back into the town which was clogged.
