I went to get my iPod out of the car and couldn't find the key. I've looked absolutely everywhere to no avail :shutit:

I know I had the key in my hand when I left the car but still can't find it.

What's worse it I went to the car before and it opens !!!

I've looked inside the car to no avail and around the car - no joy.

I'm panicking now in case someone has nabbed them and is waiting to come back later.

Aaaarrggghhh !!!! I'm having another look around now.

Whay does the car door open ??????

hmm it shouldnt open unless it detects the key. sure it aint on the sides of the seats or under them? or under the car?

What range does the key work from ? it wouldn't work from inside the house would it ?

It must be in the car.....

What a fool - I've found the key under my sports bag on the kitchen table. Doh - Fred Carno's circus springs to mind.

Question is why was the driver's door still unlocked. Do you have to manually lock it when you leave the car or should it lock itself ?

It doesn't lock on it's own, you need to press the black button on the door handle (or the lock button on the remote) to lock it.

I guess it's lucky this happened, or you may have left your car open all the time........ :)

With the keyless system you have to either lock the car with the remote or one of the buttons on the exteranl door handles.

It will only auto lock if you unlock the car and then not open any of the doors.

I had a similar problem once, and its worth bearing in mind the car shouldn't lock if the key is anywhere inside the car.

Keith

Join the club GaryC - when I first had mine, I didn't fully appreciate you had to lock it manually, spent the first night having kittens because the car wouldn't lock.....was convinced it was because the key in the house was too close to the car........it wasn't until 2am in the morning when I finally resorted to reading the manual that old light bulb came on......
