Is200 Geo Settings

I got these settings from WIM for my standard IS200 on 16" standard wheels, car isn't lowered.

REAR

Camber: 55’ Negative

Toe: 6’ Positive (partial)

Thrust: 0. Or as near to but no more than 5’

FRONT

Camber: 10 to 15’ Negative

Castor: 6 Degrees Positive if possible + - 30’

KPI/ SJI: even +- 30’

TOOT: 5% of the total lock angle taken at 20 Degrees (assume 1 Degree 30’) as an Ackerman angle.

Lock angles: - not relevant

Delta curve: - not relevant

Included angle: - not relevant (unless uneven by more than 45’)

Toe: 4’ Positive (partial)

Went to local allignment centre in Ireland and got set up, but problem is I have no idea if they have done a good job or not.

Got a print out as follows:

It can be read easier if you click to view full size and then magnify it.

The problem lies in that the WIM settings are mostly in minutes and the printout is in decimals of degrees. Also the terminology differs slightly so I don't know what to check against what. Please help. Thanks in advance.

Nope it's wrong.....

In degree and minutes the front camber positions are NS-30' and OS -15', also the castor positions have not been updated after the adjustment so we don't know there finishing positions..... I would imagine the car pulls right?

The OSR camber still has issues and looking at the OSF KPI the lower wishbone is bent.

All in all i'm not overly chuffed with that report.... who did it?

A firm called Global Tyres in Dundalk, Ireland. I wasn't really confident that he done a good job. He told me that he didn't get exactly what I wanted but as close as he could adjust to it. The problem is that I don't really understand the process enough to correct him or explain what is wrong. As for the lower wishbone you mention, is this a serious matter? Sorry for my ignorance on the issue. Should I go back and ask to have the allignment redone or go elsewhere in the hope that someone else will do a better job?

Looking at the initial figures i assume the car has suffered some form of off?..... I feel the reason the positions are what they are now is the adjusters ran out of range.

Personally i would have done diagnostics at the chassis rather than calibration..... And yes the KPI is a problem, currently the position of the cars weight at the tyre footprint is in the wrong place, this effects handling and steering return.

The type of impact would aid diagnostics regarding the damaged component/s, although historically the lower wishbone's neck is of a weaker material than the satellite components and houses the king pin so this is a fair bet in the absence of more data.

I haven't had any offs since I got the car January, not sure about previous owner. I'm really in the dark now as to what to do next. Do you have any contacts in Ireland that you would recomend to sort this out? Should I have the lower wishbone checked out? and what should I do if it is bent? Sorry for the barrage of questions.

Have it looked at first..... In particular the condition of the cast at the neck of the OSF wishbone. If it is bent normally the rust fails off at that point.

Doesn't pull, not that I notice anyway. Will have the wishbone checked. If bent can it be replaced with a salvaged part and does anyone know a ballpark figure for a price? Sorry to sound miserly but have a limited budget enforced by the significant other

The lack of a pull is good news.... Another member replaced the lower wishbone recently and the cost was around £60 if i recall.

Like i said check the cast near the neck of the wishbone and the position of it's through pin.... Another clue could be the angle of the drop-link compared to the NSF.

Think you need to expand to Ireland Tony. I know many people over here who would like to see someone dedicated to proper geometry etc set up locally. There really is no one here who has the knowledge or enthusiasm to set a car up for a particular use.

Off topic.... I still have not got near my own car as it is getting stripped again to sort some other issues but I will get back to you when I do. Gav.

Hear hear. Have you had any dealings with Charles Hurst Tyres in Belfast??? With his crowd also having a Lexus dealership I was thinking of trying them. Or is there any specialists in Belfast at all???

Any meets in Ireland at all?
