Plastic Key Cover Is220

I recently lost my little plastic Key cover for my Navy Lexus IS220. I called the local Lexus dealer who quoted me £169+VAT as I could only but the complete door handle assemble. Has anyone else came across an answer for this or had a similar experience?

i lost mine on the drivers door. lexus swindon were able to order the part. i think it cost about £5. you need to try a different dealer.

I posted this a week or so ago. May have the parts you require, and will probably be cheaper than the stealership even if you have to spray the right colour

Just what I was thinking, sounds ridiculous that a removable part like that wouldn't be able to be ordered on it's own........that is horrific that a dealer would try and order you a new door handle for a little bit of plastic :o

caused to yourself as our parts advisor is resonably new to the franchise so there was a bit of misunderstanding as to what you required. we have now resolved your quiery, the price of the part is 6.61 inc of vat. The part is avaliable from lexus so we can have the item with us in two working days. we will order this item for you today and it will arrive on 04/09/08. again we do apoligise for the inconvenence caused to yourself. Just out of curiosity (as I don't have an IS) what's the plastic key cover? Is it part of the handle? Part of the key? Part of the bootlid? Part of the steering column? I'm trying to picture what it could be! :P

If the smart access system fails to work, or your Battery is dead (on the smart key) then you can open the car manually using the 'key' which is built into the 'smart key' part of the door handle is removable to allow you to insert the key

the chrome part of the handle which is seperated!

I hope im on about the right part??
