No need to replace rears until they are needed. Lexus did mine when I purchased it but I'll have to look to see what their service dept. charged sales.

well you can do it easily yourself starting from about £100...

Blueprint brand pads are about £23 a set and discs are about £80 for the fronts.. about the best non lexus parts i can think of for the money..

Next you have the Delphi lockheeds, mintex etc brands all of which are good but prices of pads start nearer the £50 mark for a front set and discs more in the £120+ ball park.. but of the same quality as blueprint.. but have prettier boxes

When I needed new discs and pads on my old mkii GS300 I bought them from Prolex. The discs were groved and came with mintex pads. I can't remember the price but they were of very high quality. Even the Lexus dealer who fitted them were impressed.

On my old Series 1 Sport I had discs & pads renewed at KwikFit....no problems with braking ability, quality was good. Not that expensive and whenever you need pads replacing you just show original receipt/guarantee and it's FOC for as long as you own the car.

Sounds my cheapest option yet not compromising on quality - I can deal with the dull boxes :winky:

Thanks - I'll give them a call to see how much would be and compare with the above

Coincidentaly I saw the Kwik Fit advert for the free replacement pads as long as you own the car on the back of a bus whilst driving to work this morning....possibly a good deal but I just cant bring myself to hand my car over to KwikFit :whistling:

I can understand that. I would certainly not use Coventry depot. Nuneaton did such an outstanding job on wife's car sorting brakes front to back inc. h/brake (after even a main dealer had failed) that I had new pads fitted. Couple of years later they replaced discs and automatically put on new pads. Showed receipt and pads were FOC. Also freed off front caliper slide pin FOC. I am very quick to criticise bad service but I equally acknowlegde good service and Nuneaton Kwik Fit were excellent. Dave was manager so if he still is then it will be safe.

Hmmm...would be very handy - I litterally work in the building next door to the KwikFit in Nuneaton - If I look out my office window I can see the reception.

Hi, new to the LOC. Had rear discs and pads changed only 2 weeks ago at Lexus Edgware Rd, charged £168 inclusive (following 10% discount). Incidentally, still have a very slight squeaking noise, audible as the car rolls at low speed...something I can expect with new discs and pads? Thanks
