Vw Van Question

i need a bit off info on the following:

im gonna replace the pads on my vw Transporter T5 van, the brake pad sensor light is showing on the dash as the pads have low life, the question is, if i replace only the pads and not the sensor will the light show on the dash? i.e disconnect the sensor or cut it?

reason is van is on a lease, light came on today whilst i was drivin and lease company are collecting it tuesday morning, so dont want to spend too much money if poss as its going back.

and they r gonna bleed me dry with other repair bills.

going off the vans we have at work, they have had the pads replaced but needed the new sensor as the dash light was still on

Yes, for the light to come on, the sensor wire in the pad will have to have worn down a bit and make contact with the disc.

1) reset the ecu the morning they are picking it up(once they drive off its their problem)

2) take out the bulb for that light
