Excessive Tyre Wear?

One of my front tyres is looking very worn on the outside edge again. Gonna get it check tonight but if it does need changing it will be the 3rd tyre in two years. Only done 20k miles. Seem excessive to anyone else?

I would suggest that your tracking is way out. Get a Lexus dealer to check not a tyre house. Probable cause is traffic humps.

You will need to provide a little more information - but any excessive wear (outside/inside) isn't usual.

And to go through tyres as quickly as you seem to may suggest that your tracking is out?

Kwik Fit checked and said tyre was worn but plenty of tread so still legal.

Will just keep an eye on things.

Wheel alignment is a symmetrical angle meaning both tyres would wear, i think you would find the camber position is to vertical on the one wheel hence the wear.

Thanks. Problem is my car whilst mine is fleet maintained, so it is a real hassle to get them to authorise works like this.

I hear you..... Fleet will not authorize wheel alignment let alone Geometry so you have a done deal unfortunetly.

TBH it doesn't cost the earth to get your alignment checked at a proper place - and I don't mean KwikFit either :P

A few notes for peace of mind is golden mate - its clearly bothering you enough to post up and so I'd say that it might warrant a proper check - even if it means money from your own pocket?

Dunno - but if it were me, I'd get it done as I'm very particular about my cars and stuff like this bugs the hell outta me!
