Just insued my LS400-cost an extra £30 over the cost of the policy for the Jag (£136). And this is a second vehicle that is NOT garaged, fully comp, £60 windscreen excess, free legal cover, drive other vehicles, and , never had this before, business cover, which, though I would rarely use it, is handy if the van is off the road.

Insurance companies don't care abot those they insure-they are ther to make their shareholders money, but a good broker has to look after their customers. So remember RH Specialist Car Division (01277 206911) when it comes to renewal.

I just called. It seemed too good to be true. It was.

96, Ls400, on drive, 6 years NC, CB post code location (low risk), Over 50 driver only, no business. Tried them with £1500 value for the test with one expired SP30. No accidents.

£397.95

Refused to consider putting the classic van on as an extra and were talking about £160 on top.

R.H. Only deal with Equity Red Star and are not brokers for any other insurer.

What was you quote for exactly? You appear to have done well.

I'm gettin shafted. Full no claims and no accidents and i'm coughing up jus under £500 for TPFT. I changed over mid term from my GS. It worked out cheaper to pay the difference each month than to start again. As soon as I said it had LPG on it, they had my pants down.

It runs out in September so its back to the drawing board.

On the other side of the coin, we had our MX5 import, Talbot Motorhome and Nissan Figaro all with the same company fully comp on a classic policy, 5000 miles for £435 all in. Swings and roundabouts.

Paying £176 for full comp, 3000mile limit classic insurance. 1990 ls400, with me, a 36-year old behind the wheel. Bargain! (Never gone over the 3k mile limit mind) :winky:

Hiya mate, Who are you insured with?

Thanks

I have insured my LS as my second car (which it is-my 1993 VW van is my main 4 wheeled vehicle). I have a clean licence (for the first time since 1978), am <cough cough> 50 years old, have no accidents or claims, live in CM post code, will do less than 4,000 miles per year and am in a clerical job. I do travel around the UK from office to office, so business use could come in handy. I suppose I am seen as a small risk by RH.

I also own 4 motorbikes (2 are 1000 cc), and pay a ridiculously low prenium to insure them.

With Performance Direct, it`s garaged and I think my post code helps as I am in the sticks!!

Never claimed, clean licence since 1989 (not caught yet!), drive a company car and member of advanced motorists.

Happy insurance hunting! :D
