Refurbing Alloys. Shadow Chrome Style Paint?

Hi guys,

I recently saw a paint effect on some alloys that I really liked the look of. I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to achieve the look?

I would like a colour like this:

I asked a local powder coating place and they don't seem to do it, so maybe a paint is available to match the effect? I am looking to refurb my alloys to this so called shadow chrome or smoke effect to give them a fresher look.

We have many arty people on here so was hoping someone can advise how close I could get.

Thanks,

Anees :)

Not sure to be honest mate as it'll depend on how the paint takes to the alloys?

There is a company JCB used for the powder coatings that i used on the paint plant called Beckers, who do a lot of bonded metalics like the shadow chrome? we did a few display cabs in the shadow chrome type powder so might be worth contacting them to see if they do the one your after?

Think it'll work out better value to do if your local powder coater will spray them? But the 500ml would be my choice from specialist coatings, by the time its mixed there should be more than enough for a set of alloys :)

Here's the link for Beckers CLICK ME!

And just thought, there was a chap on eBay that used to sell the black chrome powder coat on eBay :)

BJV engineering (who WIM use) can do it, they showed me a sample wheel and it does look fantastic - remember it was only a little bit more to have black chrome than standard (£10 per wheel or so)

Try a few wheel refurbishers, most of the big ones do it :)
