Starting Up The Is250 And It Not Starting First Time

Recommended Posts

as the title suggests, this morning I started the car as I have done every morning and it just turned over and over, not engaging. Being just a button, I wasn't sure what to do next as it was like when you used a key it would keep turning and eventually end up flooded

There were no obvious warning lights, it was just the auxillary stuff that's normally on when you press the button before starting, but it was more the surprise as its never done anything like that before

I left it 2 mins, did it again, it struggled a bit then came to life and a bit of a rev later it was good as gold

Anyone else had this problem? All I can think is maybe the Battery is losing the charge?

I too have encountered this, but on my is220d, a few times over the past 1.5years.

Since it happened just a few times independently of the day temperature being freezing cold or blazing hot, and since I havent gone in for my first service yet, i too am interested in knowing what this is related to.

In my opinion this cant be normal and quite frankly embrassing when it happens.

I'm going in for a service soon so I'll ask about it, along with the "yawn" or "fart" noise when i turn the ign off (harmless it seems).

Happened to me last week on the 2nd time I started it after coming back from a week's holiday. It had been in the garage all week and I'd only driven a mile down the road before stopping again. It reluctantly started on the second attempt and has been OK since, so I'm assuming it was a slightly deflated Battery.
