Buying A New Is 200 Sport

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

First time post so I hope I've done it correctly.

Basically I've seen a 54 plate IS 200 sport that I'm almost at the stage of buying but there's a couple of things I'd like to find out first;

1. There seems to be a knack for putting it in reverse, pulling the gear stick to the right then pushing down and pushing left then up to get reverse, is this normal? (only ever had old bangers before so no idea what a sports gear box should feel like)

2. The paintwork beneath the doors has a orange peel look to it, it's exactly the same both sides so seems to be done on purpose, again is this normal or does it idicate that there's a problem with the body work?

Any info would be great,

Cheers,

Rudster

Thanks for the info mate, much appreciated. Yep it's the sill I'm talking about, not noticed on other cars before (probably couldn't see it for the rust)

Cheers,
